Could I Still Be Pregnant Despite Having Brown Spotting Along With Negative UPT?
I just stopped my period on the 10th this month, but before that i was spotting for about a week or so. I spotted on the 5th and started my period on the 19th. I stopped the 10th of this month May. Now today i rencently spotted dark brown. Yes i was sexually active before my period. Ive also noticed an increase of appitie and a little cramping. What can this mean? Pregnancy?
I can understand your concern. If you have had sexual intercourse in the last month without contraception and 2 to 3 weeks has passed since the intercourse, you can take a home pregnancy test now. If 5-10 days have passed since last unprotected sexual intercourse, then you can go for a blood test for pregnancy.
If that test is negative and you are experiencing menstrual irregularities then you should go to a gynecologist for physical examination and further investigations like blood tests and/or ultrasound. More than one disorder can cause period irregularities such as polycystic ovaries, infection of uterus/ovaries, endometriosis, hormonal imbalance etc. Based on the test results, diagnosis can be reached and treatment can be advised.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM for your concern. Take care.
